When are tryouts held for each team ?

Tryouts are held for all teams each Spring, traditionally in May.  The tryouts are to select team members for participation in the following Fall and Spring seasons.  Tryout schedules will be posted on this website, as well as distributed through other local media well in advance of the scheduled date.

How does one know what age group a child qualifies for ?

The age group is based on the age of the child as of 8/1 of a given year.  For example, for the current 2009-2010 season, the U8 age group was for boys and girls born between 08/01/2001 - 07/31/2002. The U9 age group was for children born between 08/01/2000 - 7/31/2001.  Date ranges for all potential age groups will be provided with registration information in the Spring.

Do players have to try out each year even if they had played in a prior year?

Yes, all players must try out each year despite the number of years with the club.  Tryout sessions will include returning players and new candidates.  No travel team soccer uniforms are permitted during tryout sessions.

How are players notified of their status after tryouts have completed?

Within a short time after tryouts have completed, typically within 1-2 weeks, all participants will be notified as to what players have been selected for a given team.  This is done through email, and tryout registration numbers are used in lieu of names in the email notification.

What is the normal schedule for a team during the season ?

All teams practice a minimum of 2 times each week during the Fall and Spring season.  Games are typically held on weekends, but makeup games due to scheduling issues/weather may occur during the week.
